Good Vibes. Energetic. Relatable.

Jay Aaron is a breath of fresh air to the music scene. Originality blends with creativity perfectly as he explores and experiments with sounds and lyrics to set the tone. With vivid storytelling, he is sure to captivate his audience. The tracks are fresh and exude a vibe of the islands along with an urban fusion of R&B aesthetics. Songs of love, relationships, maturity and experience can be expected from his upcoming EP entitled Detox.

Jay is no stranger to the music scene. As early as 4 years old, he would belt gospel hymns at his father’s church in Memphis, TN and secretly croon to the likes of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston when no one was around. Let’s not forget Al Green, Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin. His inspiration also stemmed from the renowned gospel group The Clark Sisters and vocalist extraordinaire Daryl Coley. No matter the genre, his love for music was undeniable.

From the background to center stage, Jay has always had a knack for forming groups and singing BV for others. He began to form gospel groups to perfect not only his singing, but also his songwriting. Further training with various recording artists in Memphis sharpened his talent. While gaining an extensive knowledge of gospel music, it was expected of Jay to continue on the path of a gospel recording artist; however, his heart was elsewhere.

While his passion for the stage stems from his deep rooted passion for theater and performing arts, Jay Aaron understands the importance of giving back to the lives of youth. From his early days as a volunteer at First Presbyterian Church’s homeless shelter, to performing at former Memphis City Schools’ Echoes of Truth Foundation Inc. fine arts camp, he constantly seeks opportunities to give back to his community. In 2015, Jay headlined The House Party, an annual night of celebration, music, and dance, but turned the event into a fundraiser for Memphis Union Mission. In 2021, he hosted the House party V during the pandemic as a virtual concert that featured himself and other local artists. His most meaningful performance showcase is the Memphis Juneteenth Music Festival. A repeat and frequently requested performer of Juneteenth, he passionately supports the festival’s initiative of using the arts as a tool for social change by promoting and recognizing inner city youth through the arts.

Jay Aaron has started an intriguing buzz amongst the local Memphis Community; however, the buzz has extended beyond the borders of Memphis. He has performed at venues in: Los Angeles, St. Louis, Tampa, Miami, Hartford (where Jay starred in the musical production of Change Needed – A Christmas Experience), Little Rock, Atlanta, Jackson (MS) and Tennessee’s own Nashville.
